Fairy Meadows & Nanga Parbat Base-Camp Trek
The name “Fairy Meadows” was given by the Germans while it is locally pronounced as “Joot”. Elderly people of the region speak that Fairy Meadows is a dwelling where fairies drop in at night. You will only believe why this spectacular meadow was associated with fairies only when you make your way up to this majestic highland. We take you on a stunning pathway which wraps around the Tato village to Fairy Meadows (3300m) – the conventional base camp of Nanga Parbat (8125m., the 9th highest peak in the world branded as the Killer Mountain) – a lush green plateau with the most splendid panorama one can ever imagine. The meadows offer a breathtaking views of surrounding mountains including the Killer Mountain (Nanga Parbat) – second highest out of the five 8 thousanders in the Himalayan range of Pakistan – the Raikot glacier running from the base of Nanga Parbat to the edge of Fairy Meadows campsite and beautiful glimpses of Rakaposhi, Haramosh, and Diran peak. A supplementary visit to the Hunza valley is part of this tour.
